Evie-Jo
Evie-Jo Megan Semple was born on 26th September 2007 at the Hereford County Hospital. Her pregnancy was pretty smooth. She was breech until 37 weeks into the pregnancy, but apart from that it was a text book pregnancy. She entered the world at 3pm after a 1 hour 20 minutes established labour.
When she was about 3 weeks old, we noticed her head was a odd shape. After speaking to the health visitor and also the doctor at her 6 week check up, we were advised that it would even out over time and the name of the condition is plagiocephaly. She is now 6 months old and the shape of her head looks a lot worse. Her forehead protrudes at the right side, there is also a small flat spot on the right, she has had this since birth. They said it was from the shape of my pelvis. The back of her head 'leans' to the left.
After taking her back to the doctors again, 1 day before she turned 16 weeks old, the doctor agreed it was very noticeable and has referred EJ to a paediatrician at the local hospital. But the doctor also openly admitted they wont do anything as it isnt life threatening and purely a cosmetic problem.
We have found a clinic in Cardiff, UK that will help us. Unfortunately this isnt available on the national health service. So we have to raise the funds. The total cost of treatment will be £1950 excluding travel costs. I hope to raise this money by selling things on ebay (which i will link to here), placing ads on this site for people to click, donations, making phpBB templates, and any other ways i can think of.
